Still nursing the pain, my Powerbook took me to SgScuba, where I came across a post on whether to buy or rent housings for cameras.
Over the years of diving, seeing underwater photography becoming more and more popular, and with PADI launching the PADI Digital Underwater Photography, the number of divers owning a underwater housing has increased tremendously.
However, I have always been puzzled with one thing. Some divers will invest in more than SGD$1000 for their camera but not willing to invest in a better housing to protect their camera. This is something that I cannot totally comprehend.
Imagine buying a underwater housing for SGD$200 to protect a SGD$1000 camera? Where is the maths or logic to this?
Imagine you have a 1 million dollars diamond necklace. Instead of securing it in a safe, the owner choose to store it in a Milo tin

Okay, as right now, we have the following participants who are ready to rock and roll at Raja Ampat.
1) Lester
2) Janice
3) Calvin
4) Andy
5) Karla
6) Pei Min
7) Wai Yin
Julynn
9) Lionel
10) Jason
11) Lawrence
12) Lloyd
13) Wei Qun
So only 3 more spaces to come. Now the next nightmare is gonna start, co-ordinating the air ticket and who is going on which trip.
I did not expect so many people to be keen with Raja Ampat. Looks like it I will be running two trips, back to back now.
The first trip consist of Wai Yin, Lawrence, Calvin, Janice, Andy, Karla, Jason, Pei Min, Geof, myself. And the second trip will probably consist of myself, Jason again, Lloyd and wife.. ..
Well, my little brother Ben is SO gonna be angry when he finds out we are heading to Raja Ampat without him

PADI eLearning offers a modern and flexible solution for divers with busy lifestyles!
PADI eLearning is an innovative new program designed to make training easier and more efficient. Designed with the busy diver in mind, eLearning provides interactive diver education on the Internet, accessibility anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day, immediate feedback, virtual modeling simulations and video clips, all at a pace controlled by the diver.
But will this really work for Singapore? With Open Water Diver prices being so competitive, now PADI wants a cut in the profit, I am not certain if that is going to work out. I personally applaud the idea of eLearning. No classes, no coming to class after work, watching videos wearing my pajamas, only visit the dive centre for actual training. This is an ideal case. But from a business point of view, I really do not know how is this all going to work out. For the time being, I am looking forward to it.
